Assess your organization's current state and gather input from stakeholders. This includes engagement with staff and board as well as a review of your current plan (if you have one) and other relevant materials.

Complete a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) to get a clear pulse check your current state and future state needs.

Determine your vision and theme for the strategic plan. Align on success metrics and key results.

Define core areas or "buckets" to focus your theme. These form the backbone of the plan - they are what keep you on track.

Build a strategy plan with Objectives and key Results (OKRs). Use the SMART framework to create crystal clear, bold goals.

This includes a draft plan, a feedback and engagement process and finalization.
